“The mission of Make-A-Wish® Canada is to grant the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy”

IPPSSA has contributed to the Make-A-Wish foundation through donations acquired through our joint Valentine Grams initiative with Engineering, Psychology and Communications Student Associations.

“The University of Ottawa Heart Institute is Canada’s largest and foremost heart health centre dedicated to understanding, treating, and preventing heart disease.”

IPPSSA has recently participated in a joint event with Alpha Phi Women’s Fraternity to raise money for the Heart Institute. During 1 day of tabling, we were able to raise over 200$.

‘Shinerama is the largest post-secondary fundraiser across Canada, involving more than 35,000 students from over 60 university and college campuses. Shinerama raises money and generates awareness for Cystic Fibrosis (CF).”

Under My Wing logo

“Under My Wing – Pug Rescue is a registered charitable organization based in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada and run entirely by volunteers who are dedicated to providing a bridge between a pug’s past life and its better future.”

IPPSSA was able to fundraise $752.35 at the first ever Hug A Pug event last November! We will be hosting another Hug A Pug event at the beginning of April this year.

“The SFUO Food Bank serves hundreds of students each month. The Food Bank strives to alleviate hunger and stress related to food insecurity on campus while furthering community awareness about food security.”

IPPSSA will be collecting donations for the SFUO Food Bank close to Easter this year.

Relay for Life logo

“Whether you are cheering on survivors, walking the track, passing the baton to your teammate or joining in exciting trackside activities, Relay For Life is more than just a cancer walk – it’s a journey.”

IPPSSA annually participates in Relay for Life on campus. This year, we will be fundraising for Relay for Life through a joint coffeehouse with other student associations on campus and by creating a Relay for Life Team. We strive to beat our University’s joint fundraising goal this year.
